The timings for the two days will be slightly different to the traditional UKSPA two day events. This is to ensure that coach travel between Cambridge Science Park and Wellcome Genome Campus avoids the worse of rush hour congestion in Cambridge. The programme also includes the AGM of the Association and so the Thursday sessions will continue until 5.30pm.
On Friday afternoon there will also be a final session after lunch which will be held in the Bradfield Centre at Cambridge Science Park and will also include a tour of the Cambridge Science Park, ending at 3.30pm.

Feedback from members who attended the June conference at University of Lincoln was particularly high with many members finding the two discussion sessions of particular value and this approach will be continued at Cambridge with a panel session on “Success Stories: Inspiration from Members” which will share good practice on successful initiatives with an opportunity for members to share their own success stories. A second panel/discussion session will look at “Skills and Talent”.
Detailed session summaries will be available shortly.
There will be an opportunity to look at the renewal and ambitions of Cambridge Science Park – the oldest Science Park in the country – as well as two more recent developments Genome Campus and the Cambridge Bio-Medical Campus. Parallel sessions will include sessions on:
- Developing new science parks. Looking at current developments and proposals.
- Research Campuses and Research Connections
- Futures : Emerging technologies
- Incubation that works: Sharing good practice
- Social Media and Marketing: an effective online presence
- Cambridge Connections: Astra Zeneca and Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
