You will take responsibility for the development and delivery of a programme of communications activities in support of the work of the National Innovation Centre for Ageing. The post holder will raise the profile of the Centre, ensuring that the ageing innovation agenda is promoted and that success stories are highlighted and communicated to a wide audience both internally and externally. You will co-ordinate the Centre’s communications efforts to ensure consistency with the wider Centre strategy; liaise with high-profile stakeholders and interpret and disseminate results of the project to a range of audiences, both specialist and non-specialist.
 
You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of a range of marketing and communications channels and techniques and hold a degree in a science area relevant to the core strategy of the Institute.
 
Understanding of ageing as a driver for change and of the need for innovative responses, as well as understanding the needs of a wide range of audiences is essential.

Hours of Work: Full Time

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne 

Salary: £16,618 to £17,399 (with progression to £20,046)

Closing Date: 15 January 2017

You will provide comprehensive clerical, administrative and reception support to the National Innovation Centre for Ageing. You will report to the PA to the Directors with support and guidance from senior team members.

You will hold either academic or vocational qualifications to the level of GCSE Grades A-C, NVQ2, or RSA including a minimum Grade C in English Language and Mathematics or equivalent. You will have experience of working in a relevant role or demonstrable experience and proven track record working in a comparable setting.
 
Possessing excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to prioritise your own workload and work to deadlines. The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills and be highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office software. We are seeking someone who can work as part of a team but also autonomously when necessary.
