A flourishing innovation centre in Hampshire has been given an early Christmas present - news that it will be 80% full from December 1st.

RWE and UK subsidiary npower has set up a new 2,500 sq ft Internet of Things incubator in Innovation Birmingham’s new £8m iCentrum building.

The RWE npower Internet of Things incubator will be energy focused, accelerating the growth of young businesses with a tech product or service offering in the markets of connected smart homes, intelligent energy and the internet of things marketplace.

Lasers, robotics and customisable walking aids lead the way in new competition to develop products for independent living

Laser-emitting shoes which help people overcome ‘freezing-of-gait’ and a Meccano-style walking aid kit are just two of the inventions being developed by companies in London and the south-east which could help people stay independent for longer as they get older or develop debilitating illnesses, according to Design Council and MedCity, the Mayor of London’s life sciences promotional organisation.

Construction complete on £2.4m life science facility at BioCity Scotland

Construction work is complete on MediCity Scotland, a new £2.4m medical technology incubation facility at Biocity Scotland.

A total of 11,000 sq ft of office space and incubation workspace has been constructed through the refurbishment of a vacant building at the BioCity Scotland campus in Newhouse, North Lanarkshire.

Ziarco Chooses Discovery Park as base for New Drug Development


A biotechnology company is close to getting initial results of patient trials back for a range of new therapies for inflammatory and allergic diseases – with Discovery Park at the heart of its success.

Ziarco moved into Discovery Park in April, after an expansion that has seen the venture funded business grow from a team of four to 12, with five staff added since re-locating from its previous Canterbury base. It also calls on a number of external advisors when required.
