Plymouth Science Park (PSP) was established in 1996 and is host to over 120 businesses in the Life Sciences, e-Commerce and Digital Technology. Set in 25 acres, PSP offers over 150,000 ft2 of grade ‘A’ office accommodation plus wet/dry laboratory space ranging from 160 – 10,000 ft2 units. With leases starting at 1 month, PSP can provide the most flexible space solution for businesses from start-up to established organisations.
The Park is located alongside the Derriford Teaching Hospital, Plymouth University Peninsula School of Medicine and Dentistry and the University of St Mark and St John. It is the centre for clinical trials in cognitive research, dementia and diabetes. It is also the genuine “Surf’n’Turf” site, located just a few miles from Dartmoor National Park and the dramatic Devon and Cornish coastline. In 2015 Plymouth was rated as the best place to live in terms of good schools, clean air, value and quality of housing and of course access to the sea and moor.
PSP Advisory Board
The PSP Advisory Board comprises a team of high quality business advisors with experience in many different disciplines, market sectors and geographies. It was assembled to provide expert advice to PSP businesses and affiliate companies.
PSP tenants have up to 100 hours of support per year free of charge. Advisors typically provide support in areas such as business planning and development, re-financing, sales and marketing, strategy, organisation and development, coaching and mentoring, product development, restructuring and resourcing.
Finance & Investment
Park clients have unique access to a range of investment and financial support initiatives either through the bi-annual “Dragons Den” Investment Day where businesses pitch for investment to a panel of angel investors and venture capitalists, or through our partner organisation GAIN (Growth Acceleration & Investment Network) which manages a range of government investment schemes.
December 2016 will see the opening of 1 Research Way, part of our Phase 5 development. This 30,000 ft2 unit is a state of the art building that will provide industry leading super-fast broadband, a fibre network infrastructure and the highest levels of system resilience. A flexible internal floor plan will offer space options for businesses ranging in size from 10-100 employees.
