UKSPA October Conference - Plymouth Science Park.

The October UKSPA conference is being hosted by Plymouth Science Park on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 October 2015.

There will also be an optional study tour arranged for Thursday morning for those who are travelling to Plymouth on the Wednesday or early Thursday morning.

A final session looks at Science Minister  Jo Johnson’s "One Nation Science" approach, the increased focus within Government on “place” and the Department for Businness, Innovation & Skills Science and Innovation Audits.

After the sucess of the joint UKSPA/Praxis Unico sessions at the Dublin Conference in June, it is planned to also offer a join session with Praxis Unico colleagues and further information will be available shortly.

Thursday Evening

After the formal sessions on Thursday, coaches will take delegates to the University of Plymouth Wave Hub.

Housed in the Marine Building at Plym- outh University, the Coastal, Ocean And Sediment Transport (COAST) laboratory provides physical model testing with combined waves, currents and wind, offered at scales appropriate for device testing, array testing, environmental modelling and coastal engineering.

Cornwall and the South West has invested over £100 million to provide world leading research and demonstration facilities.

These facilities, added to the research capability, ensure Cornwall and the South West is able to provide a path- way to support the development of new technology from concept design, proto- type and component testing through to full scale demonstration.

Following the Tour delegates will be transported to the National Marine Aquarium for an early evening receptoion and dinner. Coach travel has been organised at the end of dinner.
